BIG CRUX existed 2008-2015. The band was inspired by genre-bending hardcore bands like BIG BOYS, MINUTEMEN; bouncy punk bands like PLUGZ, X, UNDERTONES; indie faves WIRE, MISSION OF BURMA; funky R&B, jazzy angles, Latin twang; and philo-sci-fi contemplations on place, space, capitalism, biculturalism, and historical trajectory; a type of hard-hard bop or vacant-stare-chicken-walk boogie was begot.
